WHAT

SoftServe is proud to be Silver Sponsor with booth presence at SEG19!

The Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) 2019 International Exposition and 89th Annual Meeting in San Antonio, Texas, will feature all areas of cutting-edge technologies ranging from Machine Learning and Full Waveform Inversion to near surface and environment.

seg-2019

Join us as we explore unconventional and tight rocks in hot plays and analyze both deep water and conventional—striking a balance between technical land and marine subjects. One of the hottest topics this year is Machine Learning and Data Analytics (MLDA), with six live sessions, eight poster sessions, and a special session. Within the MLDA sessions are several subtopics, including interpretation, processing, and inversion. In this era of digital transformation, the Machine Learning theme is also pertinent to interpretation, near surface, and reservoir characterization.

The program includes sessions on geomechanics and fracturing, as well as novel acquisition methodologies—including DAS, drones, and passive and EM methods—all applied to new and challenging Permian, Latin America, and deep-water hot plays. The emphasis driving many of the technical and unconventional topics include induced seismicity, distributed acoustic sensing, shear waves, land acquisition, micro seismic, geomechanics, passive seismic, and fracture characterization.

The special global session features Latin America’s New Plays and Challenges, with eight special sessions including:

  • Recent Advances and the Road Ahead
  • CO2 Monitoring
  • DAS, Borehole and Microseismic Geophysics for Unconventionals
  • Geoscientists without Borders and Humanitarian Geophysics
  • Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence Applied to Geophysics
  • Seismic Advancements in the Permian
  • SEG/AGU Hydrogeophysics
  • Surface Wave Method Applications
