Business Challenge
Panasonic Appliance Air-Conditioning Europe partnered with SoftServe UGE, SoftServe's German entity, to build a Smart Cloud system. The goal: give businesses a single device — smartphone, tablet, or computer — to control climate systems and monitor energy consumption across multiple locations, shops, and storage sites, 24/7.
The project had three main goals:
- Give teams across locations real-time status updates on all client installations, in one click
- Cut costs by reducing energy consumption
- Ensure secure data storage and a reliable connection between system units
Project Description
The project required both software and hardware development. A team of 7 SoftServe engineers delivered the following within 6 months:
- Cloud-based control of all installations through a single internet connection, with two connectivity options: the building's existing internet connection, or a 3G connection via SIM card
- Real-time automatic updates of all parameters from the GHP/ECOi/PACi systems
- Remote maintenance advice and alarms
The team also secured the system with physical and software protections, including high-level encryption, on servers located in Germany.
