Recently, the “Open Eyes” Charity Fund donated the necessary pulse oximeters and syringe pumps to the Department of Neonatal Pathology of the Chernivtsi regional children's clinical hospital.

In particular, within the Charity project “Get Me Home Faster!” the Fund purchased two Rad 8 pulse oximeters (USA) and two Perfusor Compact Plus syringe pumps, manufactured by B.Brown (Germany), total cost of UAH 250,000.

Each year around 850 children right from the first minutes of their life (at the age of 0 to 1 month) get into hospital to undergo treatment in the Department of Neonatal Pathology of the Chernivtsi Regional Children's Clinical Hospital (Ruska Str., 207-A).

«We had to borrow pulse oximeters from other departments of the hospital, and oftenly it was impossible because of high demand. In addition, we received similar equipment from philanthropists, but they were not of the same quality as new ones and were not intended for newborns. Pulse oximeters and syringe pumps donated by the Fund to our department will help not only speed up the recovery of children, but also save children's lives,” said Ilarion Kostetsky, head of the neonatal pathology department at Chernivtsi regional children's clinical hospital.

«In 2018, I gave birth to a daughter and due to certain complications we had to spend another week in the neonatal pathology department. From my own experience, I understood how difficult it is for parents of newborn babies, and how critical it is to get high-quality and on-time help from qualified specialists. Moreover, doctors really need equipment to help children get home faster and easier. That's when the idea of the "Get Me Home Faster!" project appeared, and now we have the first result”, Natalia Hudyma, QC Engineer at SoftServe, coordinator of the "Get Me Home Faster!" project, Chernivtsi.

The "Open Eyes" charity fund was founded by SoftServe to provide systematic and global financial assistance to those in need. Originally implemented for charitable initiatives by company employees, the charity now supports a range of philanthropy efforts including humanitarian aid, healthcare, infrastructure and community development, education, and more.
