Client background
Our client is a leading provider of software, services, information, and connectivity solutions that help physicians and other healthcare providers deliver better patient care, safety, clinical outcomes, and financial results. Nationwide, more than 160,000 physicians, 800 hospitals, and thousands of other healthcare providers across clinics, post-acute care facilities, and homecare agencies use the company's solutions to automate and connect their clinical and business operations.
Business challenge
The client's homecare division needed to modernize its technology. Their existing solution was built for laptops. It let clinicians view patient data offline, enter information during homecare visits, and sync that data automatically once back at the hospital.
To expand their market presence and improve customer care, the client needed a mobile homecare application with the same core capabilities, built for how clinicians actually work today. The new application had to be user friendly, support a range of mobile devices, and give clinicians more flexibility in the field. It also needed to work both online and offline, with real time synchronization to keep patient information current at all times.

Solution
The client and SoftServe partnered to build a new Mobile Homecare Application, the first Healthcare industry application developed on the Windows Phone 7 platform. The goal was to streamline daily functions for both home health aides and physical therapists. Development included:
- Data encryption and compression aligned with HIPAA regulations, to protect the security, privacy, and integrity of patient data
- Anti hijacking protection and traffic tracking, to support complex homecare scheduling requirements
- Access to the most current clinical information at the point of care
Business value
The Mobile Homecare Application met the client's staff requirements and clinical needs. It gave point of care providers real time mobile access to patient information. Built specifically for clinicians, the tool made data gathering and clinical record updates effortless, without disrupting hands on care or the interaction between clinicians and patients.
Benefits included:
- Higher patient satisfaction and better homecare quality
- More efficient, timely patient care
- Improved flexibility and time management for clinicians
- An intuitive, cost effective application that reduced hardware spend
By modernizing how clinicians access and update patient data in the field, SoftServe helped the client extend better care beyond the hospital walls, without asking staff to compromise on speed, security, or simplicity.
