Client and challenge
The client is an international online store headquartered in Berlin. It sells lingerie, adult goods, and accessories in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and France. It also hosts parties where women can see the products in a more casual setting.
To enter the market quickly, the client built its product code base in a short time. That worked until growth picked up. During busy periods, the Magento shop ran into performance and scalability problems, and the client knew the application needed to be optimized and redesigned.
Project description
The client asked SoftServe to build separate backend applications that replace routine manual work in three areas: warehouse data management, product ordering, and accounting for the parties.
SoftServe worked closely with the client's team to:
- Automate warehouse and order fulfillment processes
- Improve performance by reworking business processes and integrating payment and shipping providers
- Keep improving the frontend to give shoppers a better experience
- Build a backend for the client's mobile application
- Integrate an external payment service
- Aggregate products from multiple data suppliers

Value delivered
Within one month of launch, the client's income passed what it had earned in the entire previous year. Sales grew 12 times.
The new platform gave the client three things it didn't have before:
- Mobile revenue: Mobile makes up 60% of the client's traffic, and the shop can now turn that traffic into sales.
- Room to enter new markets: Adding a country no longer means rebuilding the platform.
- Less manual work: Warehouse, order, and accounting tasks run through automated systems.
The client started with a shop built for speed to market. It now has one that holds up under growth.
