SoftServe pledges $1.2m toward ambulance fleet for Ukraine as part of 30th Anniversary

Ukraine-founded company drives community support through employee fundraising during worldwide anniversary observance

AUSTIN, Texas (Aug. 30, 2023)SoftServe, a premier IT consulting and digital services provider, has pledged $1.2 million for Open Eye’s “Drive for Life +100 Ambulances” project, tied to the observance of its 30th anniversary. The fundraising project expands on the previous year’s company anniversary-themed goal, aiming to purchase an additional 100 or more ambulances.

SoftServe’s “Drive for Life” project started in 2022, funding the replacement of 29 of approximately 250 ambulances destroyed in the first year of the war. The company surpassed its goal with 123 total ambulances. The next phase, tied to this year’s 30th-anniversary observance, aims to cover the approximate $1.8 million cost to purchase and fully equip an additional 100 or more ambulances. SoftServe has committed $1.2 million to the project. The company’s global team of more than 12,000 associates and the public will help fundraise an additional $600,000. So far, over $63,500 of that goal has been raised.

“I had the opportunity to travel to Lviv for SoftServe’s 30th anniversary, which gave me an even greater appreciation for the strength and resilience of the Ukrainian people throughout the country and our SoftServe teams,” said Chris Baker, SoftServe CEO. “Reflecting SoftServe’s drive to make a tangible difference in the lives of others, this Drive for Life +100 Ambulances initiative is providing life-saving equipment where it’s needed the most right now – which is all made possible by the unwavering support from our associates, clients, and partners.”

A top achievement of SoftServe's 30-year milestone is its global growth that has come from scaling talent, service offerings, and client partnerships. SoftServe started in Lviv, Ukraine, with only five employees in 1993. Today, the company's global workforce includes thousands of associates spanning 33 countries. SoftServe's client relationships have also flourished since inception with dozens surpassing the 10- and 15-year marks. Additionally, achieving a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 84 further validates SoftServe's client longevity.

SoftServe’s growth expands beyond people and locations. At the core of SoftServe’s mission is a commitment to be better custodians of the environment, champions of employee well-being, and strong community advocates, which is seen in the following data.

  • SoftServians: A total of 791 associates have been with the company for more than 10 years and 64 have eclipsed 20 years or more.
  • Innovations: More than 7,751 projects have been completed for 1,133 clients in 39 countries.
  • Client partnerships: Approximately 43 clients have worked with SoftServe for more than 10 years, 17 of which have reached 15 years, and SoftServe’s longest client partnership stands strong at 28 years and counting.

  • Charitable highlights: Prior to the latest Drive for Life pledge, $17 million was donated to support Ukrainian war efforts.

“To say SoftServe has made incredible strides over 30 years is an understatement,” Baker told associates during the company's all-hands livestream celebration.
