Deploying an Enterprise Data Platform for an Actional Insights Ecosystem
Disparate systems and data silos hinder an organization's ability to derive meaningful insights for go-to-market (GTM) strategies. Inaccurate data and the resulting overhead are obstacles to accurate decisions.
THE MORE UNUSABLE DATA YOU COMPILE, THE MORE YOU HAVE TO DIG TO FIND ITS VALUE AND BECOME INSIGHTS-DRIVEN.
To deliver the right insights to the right people at the right time, enterprises must fully connect stakeholders through a comprehensive ecosystem. SoftServe’s human-centric solution—Actionable Insights Ecosystem (AIE)—acts as a custom “smart home” for your data.
AIE is built with cross-matrix expertise across multiple centers of excellence (COE) including big data and data science, experience design, business analysis, artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML), and cloud. AIE's cornerstone is data value, not simply organization and management. SoftServe democratizes data by connecting business, tech, and customers for all-inclusive, data-driven decision-making, and operational intelligence.
An integral part of SoftServe’s Actionable Insights Ecosystem is its Enterprise Data Platform (EDP), which provides a unified view on current processes, data feeds, and analytics. By contrast, extensive manual data processing and splintered analytic views impact team productivity as stakeholders struggle to efficiently acquire data and onboard new data sets.
EDP reduces manual data processing efforts by over 80% while decreasing data experts’ dependency on self-service capabilities. Moreover, it enables on-demand integration with various third-party solutions for maximized business efficiency.
In part one of this digital panel discussion series, we're asking Taras Bachynskyy—the SME leading Actionable Insights Ecosystem delivery—to shed more light on the role of an EDP for actionable data.
How does EDP fit into the Actionable Insights Ecosystem?
TB: You can think about EDP as a toolset. You will not be able to perform certain operations if you don’t have the required tool, or if the tool’s quality is insufficient.
If AIE is a “house” then Enterprise Data Platform is the foundation and framework.
EDP defines the technological capabilities of your company to manage, process, and analyze data. Moreover, it enhances the quality of interactions with data—be they self-service or fully democratized.
The platform you use also determines the effectiveness of implementing ML scenarios, which analytics are technically supported by the platform, and how easy it is to consolidate available data sources into a data lake or data warehouse.
So, EDP encompasses quite a bit. You just mentioned data lakes and warehouses. What other data functions are associated with EDP?
TB: EDP also implies a set of different tools, technologies, and architecture patterns. These include: data ingestion and streaming technologies, tools for data wrangling, dashboards and reports, AI/ML enablement, and catalogs.
Dashboards and reporting jumped out to me in that list. Does EDP have an impact on user experience, or is that a part of the ecosystem?
AIE defines how users will interact with the ecosystem and each other, the optimal look and feel of the required dashboard, and which technology or tool you need for each analytics scenario.
EDP hosts the assets you’ve created in order to provide a great experience to end users, to monetize data, and to automate data-driven processes and services within the enterprise. AIE defines which assets you’ll need, and how best to use them.
