  • Revolutionize your supply chain with proven AI and automation.
  • Build digital twins of distribution centers using NVIDIA Omniverse.
  • Enhance coordination and manage exceptions through intelligent AI agents.
  • Boost efficiency and reduce bottlenecks to build the Distribution Center of the Future.

Managing a global supply chain requires constant evolution. A standout moment from the recent NVIDIA GTC event — which drew roughly 30,000 attendees — was SoftServe being recognized as NVIDIA Partner of the Year for the fourth consecutive year. This rare achievement, awarded in the Advanced Technology Partner category, highlights SoftServe’s deep expertise in building solutions on NVIDIA’s cutting-edge platforms. During the event, SoftServe showcased new ways to tackle the most complex physical operations in retail.

Taking a simulation-first approach to distribution centers

Many traditional integrators take a hardware-first approach to distribution center automation, building machines and placing them directly into facilities. We recommend a simulation-first approach. By leveraging NVIDIA Omniverse™, we can create high-fidelity digital twins of your existing facilities.

This framework allows you to map out thousands of sensors, autonomous machines, and shelving units in a virtual environment. Instead of relying on static computer-aided design files, you can simulate interactions and iterate on automation logic before moving a single physical pallet. This ensures that when you deploy new equipment, it integrates perfectly with your existing ecosystem.

Bridging the gap with directed work

One of the most common challenges we hear from retail leaders is the delay between a physical action happening on the distribution center floor and the enterprise resource planning system registering that action. Operating at peak efficiency requires real-time coordination, often referred to as directed work.

Think of directed work as a ride-sharing app for warehouse pallets. An autonomous forklift might know how to drive, but it needs an intelligent backend system to tell it which pallet to pick up and exactly where to place it. By mapping your facilities with extreme precision, we can build the routing logic necessary to achieve true lights-out automation, where machines operate seamlessly without human intervention.

Handling exceptions with AI Agents

Automation often falters when unexpected issues arise, forcing human intervention and limiting efficiency. As warehouses add more cameras and IoT sensors, the volume of data becomes too overwhelming for manual processing.

This is where AI-driven agents come in. If a supplier ships an item in a 50-centimeter box instead of the expected 20-centimeter box, an AI agent can instantly evaluate the situation. Instead of flagging a human to manually repackage the item, the agent can run a spatial simulation in Omniverse to determine if the larger box can simply fit on the shelf. If the simulation succeeds, the agent updates the system and directs the automated machinery to place the box. This drastically reduces human interaction and keeps your pipeline moving.

Next Steps for Your Facilities

The technology to build a highly intelligent, predictive supply chain is already here. We are eager to show you how these targeted simulations and AI agents can seamlessly integrate into your current roadmap. Let us schedule a time to walk through our Distribution Center of the Future demonstration and discuss how we can accelerate your automation goals.
