Orest Kupyn, Software Engineer at SoftServe, will be participating in the final of the International Innovation Challenge 2016 as part of the Ukrainian Catholic University team. The team of software engineers, who are all students of the Data Science Master’s Program, will be presenting a financial business solution developed for the Bank of Montreal. The team’s solution focuses on:

  • Developing a “Significant Deposit Detection Algorithm”
  • Creating a prediction model for investment sales
  • Optimizing a contact strategy.

The International Innovation Challenge focuses on customer analytics, and seven participating companies - Scotiabank, RBC Royal Bank, TD Canada Trust, Bank of Montreal, Spirit of Math, Loblaw, and Canadian Tire - have provided contestants with business problems and data. On November 25, the finalists will present their business solutions to the jury and a winner will be selected.

“The rapid changes in technology and consumer expectations demand financial institutions to react quickly and adjust to meet customers’ needs in the most effective ways,” said Orest Kupyn, Software Engineer, SoftServe. “This competition is an example of how, with the help of technology solutions, we can transform banks and other financial institutions to achieve agility and stay competitive”.
